I am a self-pay counselor and do not submit insurance claims or work directly with insurance companies. The advocate in me wants to make sure your privacy and autonomy are protected, and private-pay counseling allows us to keep the focus on you and your goals. Using insurance may require a mental health diagnosis and information supporting medical necessity. Insurance companies may also request access to clinical information or determine what services they consider medically necessary. Choosing private pay gives you greater control over your personal information and your counseling experience, allowing our work to be guided by what you need and not by insurance requirements.

 

Out-of-Network Benefits

If your insurance plan offers out-of-network mental health benefits, I can provide you with a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement varies by plan, so I recommend checking with your insurance provider about your specific out-of-network benefits.

I also accept payment through Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). These accounts allow you to use pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible healthcare expenses, including qualifying counseling services. Please check with your plan administrator to confirm your specific eligibility and coverage.
